Allyce is an 18 year old who was initially diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma while in high school. After major surgeries in 2021, follow-up tests showed that her once malignant tumor had returned. This news was devastating for someone who thought they had moved past this part of their life. Her college education was put on hold while she faced this challenge again.

But Allyce is a lot more than just a cancer diagnosis. She has always had a deep love of sports. Growing up in a competitive and sports obsessed household shaped her tremendously. She played all different types of sports and eventually found her true passion, tennis! With hard work and determination, she became a D1 college athlete.

When the cancer recurred, Allyce and her family reached out to A Special Wish Chicago in hopes of offering a dream adventure. Allyce’s love and devotion to tennis fueled her special wish choice. She requested to go to New York City (for the first time!!) and sit courtside to watch her favorite tennis players compete in The US Open Tennis Championships. Her special wish team began the work to make this happen for this deserving young girl. What an adventure it became, experiencing NYC with her parents and a special friend. Allyce enjoyed exploring “The Big Apple”, sightseeing, trying all types of delicious foods, and watching lots of live tennis. The wish team for Allyce from A Special Wish Chicago was happy and honored to make this trip of a lifetime for her. With the strength and determination she shows, who knows… maybe we’ll see her playing in the tournament one day!
