Bosco
Bosco is a happy, lively 8-year-old who always has a smile on his face. Currently in 2nd grade, Bosco is the strongest, most resilient and positive person his parents have ever known. He was born with CLOVES Syndrome which is a very rare congenital disorder characterized by a combination of vascular, skin, spinal, and bone or joint abnormalities. Because of Bosco’s condition he has spent months at a time in NICUs, PICUs, and hospital rooms across the US. He has undergone several surgeries and receives care and follow up at least every three months. This condition aects Bosco’s everyday life with extreme fatigue, body pain, diculty regulating his body temperature and overgrowth of his lower extremities. Although he was thought to never be able to walk, he can now walk short distances thanks to tons of PT and the orthotics he wears. In spite of all of this, Bosco’s smile and positive energy radiate and light every room he walks in, whether it be at school, the playground or the hospital. He knows how to make one of his “good days” (the days where he is not feeling aected by CLOVES) the best day.
Bosco’s favorite thing to do is to play LEGOS with his siblings. They build intricate houses and come up with dierent characters with their own personalities, interests and stories. They can spend hours sitting at their LEGO table building and giggling. He also loves watching any movie where The Minions are shown and is now taking an interest in Harry Potter. Bosco has a very sweet tooth and has been obsessed with eating ice creams and pastries since he was a toddler. Actually, one of his first words was: ice cream.
